The Absa Top 5 Olive Oil Awards were announced earlier this week, the winners as follows:
Gabriëlskloof EVOO
Greenleaf EVOO
Kransfontein Coratina EVOO
Marbrin Olive Growers Intense EVOO
Willow Creek Directors’ Reserve EVOO
SA Olive and Absa instituted the Top 5 competition in 2013 as an extension to the annual SA Olive Awards. The 20 top performers are eligible to make the Top 5 cut.
South Africa, which is currently seeing a 20% growth in olive farming, produces around 2 million litres of olive oil per year – and is one of the fastest growing sub-sectors in agriculture.
