Star chef Jan Hendrik van der Westhuizen to open bistro at Cape Town’s Waterfront

Jan Hendrik van der Westhuizen, Michelin-starred South African chef, restaurateur, and publisher, is best known for his acclaimed restaurant JAN in Nice, France, where he celebrates South African heritage through French technique. He announced on Instagram that this December, his bistro concept, Le Bistrot de JAN, opens its first South African outpost at the InterContinental Table Bay in Cape Town’s V&A Waterfront. Executive Chef Giles Edwards, formerly of La Tête, will lead the kitchen, crafting a menu that blends classic French flavours with Cape Town’s culinary spirit, set against the backdrop of Table Mountain.
