Judging for the second annual Nedbank Green Wine Awards to be reported on in the December issue of Wine magazine was completed earlier today.

The panel consisted of Miguel Chan of Southern Sun Deluxe Hotels, Ginette de Fleuriot of Vinimark, Allan Mullins of Woolworths, Haskell Vineyards winemaker Rianie Strydom and me.

There were 50 entries compared to 51 in 2009. Producers were asked to submit wine from organically grown grapes, a condition of entry being that submissions be accompanied by valid certification, such as that issued by Societé Génénarle de Survaillance (SGS).
