The International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC) was founded in 1969 and is one of the most prestigious of its kind in the world. 2013 results were announced recently with the following South African wines winning trophies
Kanonkop Paul Sauer 2009 (first winery in the world to win best blended red wine for the fourth time)
KWV The Mentors Pinotage 2011
Stellenrust 48 Barrel Fermented Chenin Blanc 2012
Nederburg Private Bin Eminence 2008
