JC Bekker takes over at Rupert & Rothschild

JC Bekker has been appointed as the new CEO at Rupert & Rothschild Vignerons. He succeeds Schalk-Willem Joubert who recently resigned after 20 years with the company (see here).
Bekker has 24 years’ experience in the South African wine industry. Besides a B.Sc Honours degree in oenology and viticulture (cum laude) from the University of Stellenbosch, he also holds a post-graduate diploma in wine management practice from the Universities of Adelaide and Cape Town.
He spent 22 years with DGB where he was cellarmaster of the group’s flagship Boschendal winery before becoming its overall head winemaker.
Bekker takes up his new position on 1 June.
