Vergenoegd in Stellenbosch was owned by the Faure family from 1820 but was sold earlier in the year, the new owner being the German businessman Prof. Dr. Dr. Peter Loew, a key figure in the LIVIA investment group with funds under management amounting to more than € 450 million.
Under the new regime, the historic buildings are set for restoration and new visitor experiences on offer include artisanal picnics, vintage wine tastings and interactive wine, olive oil, tea and coffee blending. The property’s famous flock of Indian Runner Ducks can also be viewed on parade.
