Org de Rac appoints Lizelle Gerber as winemaker

Swartland winery Org de Rac has appointed Lizelle Gerber as winemaker with effect from 1 July. She will be working alongside cellarmaster and general manager Frank Meaker for the meantime but is set to be fully in charge of production from the 2022 harvest although Meaker will be on hand to ensure a smooth transition.
Gerber made a name for herself at Avontuur and then Eikendal in the early 2000s before a long stint at Boschendal where she focused on Cap Classique and white wine. She joined Nederburg in August 2019 but left suddenly earlier this year.
