Just back from the fourth annual Stellenbosch at Summer Place presented by Sanlam Private Investments. 35 wineries showing two wines each – members of Stellenbosch Wine Routes invited to submit wines and these then vetted by the South African Sommeliers Association to determine the final line-up.

In addition, food by Bertus Basson of Overture, Michael Broughton of Terroir, Christiaan Campbell of Delaire, Grégory Czarnecki of Waterkloof  and George Jardine of Jordan; art from Sanlam’s prestigious collection; fashion by designer Joel Janse van Vuuren and live music.

Guests of SPI attended on Tuesday night while the event was open to the public last night at R500 a ticket. Proceedings ended with Stellenbosch ensemble Zamar belting out ABBA while those attending got stuck into the likes of Fleur du Cap Noble Late Harvest 2011, Muratie Ben Prins Cape Vintage 2009 and Van Ryn’s Collectors Reserve 20 Year Old Brandy.
