The real deal.

Yesterday we visited Porter Estate Produce Market and EarthFair Food Market, both in Tokai. Porter Estate is located at the top of Tokai road between Tokai Forest and Table Mountain National Park and has the edge in terms of ambience being open air and rustic whereas EarthFair Food Market is situated in retail complex off Tokai Main Road.

Porter Estate is dry however and EarthFair therefore trumps it  in that you can quench your thirst at the Laughing Croc bar, to be recommended in particular for providing Everson’s Cider on tap. Plenty of apple flavour before a pleasantly tart finish. This and James Mitchell’s Gone Fishing are the only two local ciders worth drinking.

    Hi Christian,

Thanks for the mention of my cider , really good to see you enjoyed it on tap!
Not bad for the first try of a “garagiste” winemaker!
    Regards,
    William
