Bosman Family Vineyards Fides 2015
By Christian Eedes, 14 April 2017
Fides from Wellington producer Bosman Family Vineyards is by no means your standard “dry white” – from Grenache Blanc, it’s what gets dubbed “orange wine”, the process used to make it involving spontaneous fermentation on the skins, this lasting four weeks and then 20% of the wine matured in Russian oak.
On the nose, potpourri, dried apricot, nuts, some waxy character and a little spice while the palate is rich and broad, the acidity seemingly quite soft but generally very flavourful. Price: R185 a bottle.
Editor’s rating: 91/100.
