Barrels of fun.

At approximately R150 a bottle, the standard-label Chenin Blanc from growers Danie and Hugo Carinus and winemaker Lukas van Loggerenberg is fast becoming one of the most reliable mid-tier white wines around.

The 2019 is again bang on the money. From Swartland grapes, the nose has a floral top note before pear, peach and citrus plus some yeasty complexity. The palate is light and fresh yet layered with flavour – great fruit definition and full of energy.

CE’s rating: 91/100.
