Dornier Equanimity Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

By , 3 February 2022

Lingering drought seems to have produced a rather forceful wine in the case of the Equanimity Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 from Stellenbosch property Dornier. Matured for 18 months in French oak, of which 30% was new, the nose shows cassis, fennel, earth plus toasty oak and some flinty reduction. The palate has huge depth of fruit, punchy acidity and firm tannins. Big but balanced, this will appeal to those who don’t like their wines too puny (alcohol: 14.5%). Price: R185 a bottle.

CE’s rating: 91/100.
