Heem Cabernet Sauvignon 2022

By , 11 September 2025

Heem Cabernet Sauvignon (R600 a bottle) is from a 0.8ha block planted in 1980 in what might be termed the “Bermuda triangle” between Polkadraai Hills and Stellenbosch Kloof, viticulture by Danie Carinus and winemaking by Gavin Slabbert of Raats/Bruwer Vintners, both equally celebrated.

Matured for 20 months in barrel, 30% new, the result is elegant and refreshing with aromas of floral perfume, herbs, cassis and pencil shavings. The palate is medium-bodied and seamless – no lack of mid-palate, good freshness, the finish long and dry. Alc: 13.5%.

CE’s rating: 94/100.
