Hermanuspietersfontein Swartskaap Cabernet Franc 2019

The Sondagskloof property Hermanuspietersfontein was established in 2005, the winemaker since the 2015 harvest being Wilhelm Pienaar, who was previously at Nederburg.
The Cabernet Franc is the only single-block wine in the portfolio. Matured for 24 months in barrel, of which 50% was new, the nose shows top notes of rose, mint, and other herbs, cranberry, strawberry, blackcurrant, olive and earth while the palate is medium bodied with fresh acidity, the tannins already quite soft. Mellow and ready to drink. Price: R420 a bottle.
