Formerly sommelier at top Cape Town restaurant The Test Kitchen, Tinashe Nyamudoka is now an associate director at digital publications company ManleySocial based in Johannesburg. As a sideline, he has also launched his own wine brand under the Kumusha label, the wines made in conjunction with Attie Louw of Slanghoek property Opstal. Tasting notes and ratings as follows:

Kumusha The Flame Lily 2019
Price: R190
48% Roussanne, 35% Chenin Blanc. 13% Colombar and 4% Semillon. The nose shows notes of apple and peach, honeysuckle, spice plus some leesy complexity in the background while the palate is rich and broad, thick textured but not too much so. A flavourful drop.

CE’s rating: 90/100.
