Momento new releases
By Christian Eedes, 9 June 2020
Marelise Niemann of Momento is enamoured with Verdelho on account of its vibrant acidity and general suitability to South African growing conditions and it appears prominently in her two-way blend but there’s also a dash in her Grenache Gris as well as her new single-variety Grenache Blanc. Her wines from the 2019 vintage are as characterful and compelling as ever.

74% Chenin Blanc (Swartland, Bot River) plus 26% Verdelho (Voor Paardeberg, Bot River). Lemon, naartjie and orange, spice plus some leesy complexity. Lovely fruit concentration, punchy acidity and a pithy finish, this is flavour packed.
CE’s rating: 94/100.
