Namysto Sauvignon Blanc Semillon 2017

By , 17 March 2020

Decorative.

The White 2017 from Quoin Rock, consisting of 85% Sauvignon Blanc and 15% Semillon, rated 91 in our category report of 2018 but is not cheap at R350 a bottle. The Namysto Sauvignon Blanc Semillon 2017 from the same cellar is much more within reach at R120 a bottle and is also smart.

Consisting of 95% Sauvignon and 5% Semillon, the latter portion oaked, the nose shows subtle green notes, elderflower, lime and pineapple while the palate is dense and smooth textured but equally possesses punchy acidity. Should drink well for a good while yet.

CE’s rating: 91/100.
