The 2019 is the fifth vintage that Upper Hemel en Aarde property Newton Johnson has released an Albariño and it’s the best yet, possessing even more clarity and complexity than before. On the nose, citrus, peach, floral perfume and just a hint of yeasty complexity while the palate has excellent fruit concentration, bright acidity and a salty finish – just packed with flavour. Approximate retail price: R210 a bottle.
