The Vine Dried Sauvignon Blanc 2019 from Quoin Rock in Stellenbosch involves each individual grape bunch being pinched at the stalk to stop the flow of water and nutrients, causing the bunches to dry whilst hanging on the vine.

Such wines can be massively rich but this is relatively light, clean and fresh. Notes of granadilla, pineapple, honey and flowers on the nose and a palate that is subtle and not at all cloying. Price: R350 per 375ml bottle.

CE’s rating: 89/100.
