Springfield Wild Yeast Chardonnay 2014

The Wild Yeast Chardonnay from Springfield in Robertson has always been a delightfully idiosyncratic wine (fermentation occurs spontaneously and is typically quite extended, the wine left unwooded) and the 2014 is no different.
The nose shows quite heady orange blossom, lemon, honey and some yeast complexity while the palate is juicy and full – it’s not Chablis but it is delicious. Price: R90 a bottle.
