The Power of Love Cabernet Sauvignon 2020 from Black Elephant Vintners in Franschhoek bears a quote from musician Jim Hendrix reading “When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace” and is intended as something of a countermeasure to the polarization currently prevalent in the world.
From own fruit, maturation took place in stainless steel tank for 22 months. The nose shows red and black berries, crushed leaves, fresh herbs, some violet perfume a touch of reduction while the palate is medium bodied with fresh acidity, a nice austerity to the finish. Price: R145 a bottle, the producer committed to donating 5% of all purchases to Amnesty International.
