The trophy winner in Class 13 – Other Reds, Full Bodied at last year’s Six Nations Wine Challenge was the Meta Matarao 2017 from Schwarz Wine Co. in Barossa Valley, Australia. makes for fascinating drinking.  The nose is most alluring with notes of red cherry, rose water, incense and spice while the palate is light bodied (alcohol: 13.6%) with clean fruit, fresh acidity and fine tannins. Editor’s rating: 90/100.
