Tobias Steen 2010

Hipster white.

Hipster white.

I acquired a bottle of Tobias Steen 2010 as made by Bryan MacRobert at a previous Swartland Revolution and last night it’s time was up.

This is the sort of wine which succeeds and succeeds handsomely in being so unembellished. Peach and apricot, honey, spice and that stale beer note which sounds awful but really works. On the palate, the bright acidity plays off against the relatively thick texture to great effect. Very flavourful and suitably savoury on the finish. Delicious.

Score: 90/100.
