La Colombe climbs to No. 35 in World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2026

The 50, formerly known as 50 Best and an international media company connecting people to the world’s best hospitality, recently announced its 50 Best Restaurants 2026. Cape Town restaurant La Colombe placed No. 35, after being 55th in 2025. Asador Etxebarri in Atxondo, Spain placed first.

Some will argue that at R3000+ including service charge this is still excellent value for the foreigners visiting our shores, others can also argue that the ingredients from the menu are monotonous, not much of this set menu has changed since my last visits from now probably 6 years back or more and this remains a set menu which by nature doesn’t offer a variety of choice that some patrons might be looking for when going to this level of restaurant. So not really wanting a repeat of the same, been there a few time, done that, thank you.
