Blaauwklippen devastated by fire

Landbou.com, the website of Afrikaans agriculture magazine Landbouweekblad, reports that Stellenbosch property suffered extensive damage due to a fire driven by gale-force winds last night (6 – 7 April) – read more here.

The fire allegedly started at workers houses on a neighbouring farm.The manor house, jonkershuis, and the Cathedral, a wedding venue with a 150-person capacity, were destroyed. The tasting room, cellar and deli remain intact.
