Cederberg appoints Mika Engelbrecht to the winemaking team

Cederberg Wines, set high in the mountains of the same name some 300km north of Cape Town, has announced via Facebook that Mika Engelbrecht will join its winemaking team. The appointment follows the departure of Jean Nel and Gwen Marais to Elgin property Iona earlier this year.

Engelbrecht, 29,  joins from Neethlingshof, part of Iwayini, the local subsidiary of French wine company Groupe GCF. Earlier this year, she was among the Top 10 at the iTOO Next Generation Awards for her Neethlingshof Short Story Collection Maria Noble Late Harvest 2025.
