Wellington property Doolhof has announced Rüdger van Wyk as its new winemaker, his appointment official since the beginning of January. Van Wyk completed his winemaking studies at Stellenbosch University in 2013 before taking part in the Cape Winemakers Guild Protégé programme. He started at Stellenbosch property Stark-Condé in late-2015, where he quickly rose to prominence.
British businessman Philip Richards acquired Doolhof in December 2020. Some 40 of the property’s 380 hectares are planted to vine, the focus on Pinotage, Malbec and Chenin Blanc.
