Groot Constantia, run by a Not for Profit Company with the aim of preserving the cultural heritage of the estate for posterity, has announced Daniel Keulder as its new winemaker. This comes after it was revealed earlier in the year that Boela Gerber, incumbent at the property since January 2001, is leaving to take up a position in Virginia, in the southeast of USA.

Keulder holds a Master’s degree in Viti-and Viniculture from Stellenbosch University. From 2009 to 2014, he worked as an assistant winemaker at Groot Constantia, before leaving to further his career at Ntida in Durbanville. In 2020, Daniel returned to Constantia, where he was winemaker at Constantia Uitsig.
