Nedbank Cape Winemakers Guild Auction 2021 sales figures

Total sale amounted to just under R9.9 million at the 37th Nedbank Cape Winemakers Guild Auction conducted online by Bonhams this past Saturday, 1 734 cases (6 x 750ml) fetching an average price of R5 684 per case and an average price per bottle of R947. This compares to last year’s sales of R4.1 million for 564 cases, average price per case being R7 267 (average price per bottle: R1 211).

The top-performing red wine was Cederberg Teen Die Hoog Shiraz 2019 with an average case price of R13 250 ahead of Kanonkop CWG Paul Sauer 2018 with an average of R12 750.

Top-performing white wine was Ataraxia Under The Gavel Chardonnay 2020 with an average case price of R 6 300 ahead of Lismore Here Comes The Sun 2020 with an average of R6 295.

63% of sales went to South African bidders and 37% to the rest of the world.
