SAA Wine Awards 2011

South African Airways recently announced the winners of the airline’s 24th annual wine awards arising out of its onboard wine selection for 2011. The winners were:
Méthode Cap Classique of the Year: Dieu Donné 2008
Port of the Year: Boplaas Cape Tawny N/V
White Wine of the Year: Kumkani Lanner Hill Sauvignon Blanc 2009
Red Wine of the Year: Villiera Monro Merlot Cabernet Sauvignon 2005
SAA Chairperson’s Award (for most important supplier to domestic services): Anura Vineyards
SAA Chief Executive Officer’s Award (for best performance overall): Anura Vineyards
There were “around 1 000 wines” entered judged by a panel of 12 local and international judges.
