Monsonia Speciosa.
Vondeling in Voor Paardeberg pays tribute to a rare species of fynbos with a change in name for its top-of-the-range red blend from ‘Erica’ to ‘Monsonia’ and you can win a six-bottle case of this wine.
Monsonia is indigenous to the Paardeberg Mountain and is highly endangered. Common names for Monsonia Speciosa include Butterfly Flower, Sambreeltjie, (little umbrella) and Slangblom (snake flower).
The Vondeling Monsonia 2015 is a blend of 85% Shiraz, 6% Mourvédre, 5% Grenache Noir and 4% Carignan and costs R215 a bottle. To enter, all you have to do is 1) sign up for our free newsletter and 2) “like” the Vondeling Facebook page.
