During a stint at Avontuur which lasted from 1999 to after the 2002 harvest, winemaker Lizelle Gerber emerged as a one of the hottest talents around, picking up accolade after accolade for wines across the style spectrum. She subsequently moved to Eikendal and then DGB and has been going through a bit of a quite patch. However, her Boschendal 2009 rating 4 Stars and placing among the Top 12 at this year’s Wine magazine Chenin Blanc Challenge suggests she may back to her best.
