Leading wine critic Michael Fridjhon will again be running his wine judging academy from 23 to 25 January next year at the Grand Roche hotel in Paarl . Course fee: R6 995.

Hi Hennie, The short answer is no. Applicants need to have meaningful wine tasting experience already, the purpose of the academy being to identify those with real talent who can become associate judges and ultimately senior judges. The pool of knowledgeable, experienced local tasters is ageing fast and this is intended to address succession issues.
