Ataraxia Serenity 2017
By Christian Eedes, 26 July 2019
Stand easy.
Serenity in recent vintages sees Kevin Grant of Ataraxia combining Pinotage with Cinsault and Pinot Noir so as to create his own take on a light red blend (see here).
The nose of the current-release 2017 shows a touch of smokiness before cherries, plums, vanilla and white pepper while the palate is marked by succulent fruit, fresh acidity and crunchy tannins, the finish nicely dry. Intriguing, as always. Price: R210 a bottle.
Editor’s rating: 90/100.
