Boplaas Cape Tawny NV
By Christian Eedes, 1 November 2024

Typically matured for 10 to 12 years in 500-litre Portuguese pipes, this release shows orange, dried stone fruit, potpourri, nuts, cocoa and spice on the nose. The palate is linear, energetic and direct – not short of density but equally not too luscious, the finish dry and persistent. Refined and seamless, this offers extraordinary quality relative to price at R250 a bottle. Alc: 17.5%.
CE’s rating: 95/100.
