Copper Pot Pinot Noir 2022
By Christian Eedes, 27 March 2023
The Copper Pot Pinot Noir from John Seccombe of Thorn and Daughters grows ever more assured, the 2022 from numerous sites in the Overberg region, winemaking typically involving 60 – 80% whole-bunch fermentation.
Red cherry and raspberry plus hints of musk, herb and spice on the nose while the palate shows lovely poise and vitality – pure fruit, fresh acidity and powdery tannins. Accessible but not needlessly facile, this terrific quality relative to price at R180 a bottle.
CE’s rating: 91/100.
