David & Nadia Single Vineyard new releases

By , 27 July 2026

In the case of the David & Nadia Single Vineyard wines from the 2025 vintage, there is a sense that they are leaning into the character of each site more than ever before. The winemaking is deliberately unobtrusive, revealing rather than refining away the individual personalities of the vineyards. These are not wines designed for immediate accessibility – they are challenging, cerebral and at times difficult to decipher, but all the more compelling as a result.

Hoë-Steen Chenin Blanc 2025
Price: R1,110

From a vineyard west of Malmesbury, planted in 1968 on iron-rich clay — the deepest soils that the Sadies work with. South-facing and therefore late ripening, the site yielded just 1t/ha after wind affected flowering, with total production limited to only 651 bottles. The nose is beautifully expressive, showing flowers, herbs, hay, citrus, peach and a subtle flinty reduction. The palate has exceptional fruit purity and impressive texture, even a degree of lushness, but remains composed rather than oversized. The acidity is seamlessly integrated, while the finish gently savoury tending to slightly bitter. A wine that has scale but carries that scale effortlessly. Alc: 135%.

CE’s rating: 96 | Luxurious

Langland Chenin Blanc 2025
Price: R1,110

From a Paardeberg vineyard, on sandy soil with low clay content and east-facing, the second last vineyard to be picked. The nose is shy, faint notes of soft citrus, peach, apricot and dried herbs discernible. The palate is rich and round with moderate acidity, the finish gently savoury. There is good depth of fruit and textural interest, although the wine is currently somewhat closed and difficult to fully read. Alc: 13.5%.

CE’s rating: 95 | Serious

Skaliekop Chenin Blanc 2025
Price: R1,110

From a Paardeberg vineyard planted in 1985 on shale, an unusual soil type for the area. North-west facing and therefore a warmer site, it is the second site to ripen. The nose shows pronounced struck-match reduction alongside pear, white peach, lime and herbal notes. The palate is marked by exceptional fruit purity, bright acidity and a long, dry finish. Poised and precise, this is the most elegant of this year’s four Single Vineyard Chenins. Alc: 13.5%.

CE’s rating: 97 | Classic

Plat’bos Chenin Blanc 2025
Price: R1,110

From a Paardeberg vineyard on granite, immediately adjacent to Skaliekop, and the earliest of the Single Vineyard sites to ripen. The nose is ethereal offering lime, green apple, herbs and blossom. Rather than lean, it is delicate and tensile, with a sense of fragility that adds to its charm rather than suggesting a lack of substance. The fruit is present but understated; this vintage is defined above all by its electric acidity and bone-dry finish. Alc: 11.5%.

CE’s rating: 96 | Distinctive
