Endura new releases

Former co-operative Perdeberg Wines takes in grapes from vineyards spanning over 3 000 hectares, mainly in the Paarl and Swartland regions. Endura is the top-end label, tasting notes and ratings for the two new releases as follows:
Endura Single Vineyard Chenin Blanc 2021
Price: R250
Grapes from Paardeberg. Matured for eight months in a combination of ceramic amphora, diamanté wine tanks and French oak barrels. Complex aromatics with top notes of honeysuckle and herbs before lime, lemon, white peach, a hint of wet wool, earth and spice. The palate has good fruit concentration and tangy acidity, an agreeable bitterness to the finish. Rich but not without reserve – alcohol is 14%.

Endura Winemaker’s Selection Cape Blend 2020
Price: R350
52% Pinotage, 24% Cabernet Sauvignon and 24% Malbec. Matured for 18 months in French oak barrels. Red and black berries, vanilla, earth and spice on the nose while the palate is full bodied with sweet fruit, moderate acidity and soft tannins.
