Fairview Broken Barrel Pinotage Durif 2019
By Christian Eedes, 11 January 2022
1

At R125 a bottle, Broken Bottle 2019 offers satisfying everyday drinking. With the Pinotage sourced from the Swartland and the Durif from Paarl, maturation lasted 24 months in French and American oak, 20% new. The nose shows plums, cherries and black berries plus incense, vanilla and spice while the palate has lots of fruit richness and soft tannins without being too vulgar or sweet.
CE’s rating: 90/100.

Its so sad , this would be an interesting wine to introduce to our guesthouse clients , but contact fairview to try and purchase it , nothing no service , didnt they win best marketing prizes etc ? when we wanted to buy wine from them it took more than a month between replies from fairview sales team , not very prize worthy.
