Keermont Terrasse 2022

By , 20 February 2024

There’s still very good white wine to be had under R100 a bottle (Wolftrap White 2022 at 70 bucks, for instance) but R100 – R200 seems a curious no man’s land. If you’re good for R248 a bottle, however,  you can’t go wrong with Terrasse 2022 from Stellenbosch property Keermont.

Consisting of 46% Chenin Blanc, 20% Chardonnay, 14% Sauvignon Blanc, 10% Roussanne, 8% Viognier and 2% Marsanne, the nose shows peach, lemon and orange plus hints of fynbos, earth, spice and yeasty complexity. On the palate, concentrated fruit, punchy acidity and a deeply savoury finish. Nice weight – not too heavy, not too light – while there’s some light grip to the finish. Flavourful and as suggested above, great quality relative to price. Alv: 13.5%.

CE’s rating: 94/100.
