Klein Constantia Perdeblokke Sauvignon Blanc 2015

Scintillating.

Can Sauvignon Blanc be profound? Last night Klein Constantia winemaker Matthew Day showed the 2015 vintage of his single-vineyard wine known as Perdeblokke and it certainly grabbed the attention…

A wonderfully enticing nose of lemon and its rind, white peach, black currant, fynbos and talcum powder while the palate is amazingly vivid – pure, lithe and supple. So much Sauvignon is inherently interchangeable being overtly fruity and pretty much free of nuance but in the case of the Perdeblokke from the 2015 vintage of Perdeblokke something truly particular. Alc 13.77%, RS 1.8g/l, TA 7.7g/l and pH 3.1.

#WinemagRating: 95/100.
