Kleine Zalze Cellar Selection Cinsault 2016
By Christian Eedes, 3 April 2017
Cinsaut/Cinsault’s shift from fringe to mainstream continues apace with the Cellar Selection 2016 from Kleine Zalze selling for R67 a bottle. From a combination of Darling and Paardeberg grapes, the wine saw no oak in its production.
On the nose, some floral fragrance and candy floss before red cherry and strawberry while the palate displays pure fruit, fresh acidity and fine tannins. It’s light bodied and a delight to drink if not super-complex.
