Kottabos Grenache Syrah 2022

The Grenache Syrah 2022 from the acclaimed Reenen Borman under his Kottabos label isn’t super-intense but it is exceedingly drinkable (I want to write “smashable”, but this apparently irritates some people).
An 80: 20 blend, the nose shows red currant, strawberry, fynbos and white pepper, while the palate has pure fruit, bright acidity and powdery tannins, the finish nicely savoury (alcohol: 13.4%). A whole lot of happiness for R205 a bottle.
CE’s rating: 92/100.

More smashable and less everything else, I say 🙂

If people get irritated by the use of words like smashable, minerality, etc. they need bigger problems in their lives.
