Laborie Jean Taillefert Prestige Cuvée 2010

Let’s get fizz-ical.

The Jean Taillefert Prestige Cuvée is the KWV off-shoot Laborie’s best effort when it comes to Méthode Cap Classique, from 100% Pinot Noir and made in a Blanc de Noir style in the case of the maiden 2010 vintage.

From Walker Bay grapes, the wine spent a minimum of 54 months on the lees. On the nose, a subtle yeasty note before peach, apple and red berry. The palate, meanwhile, shows pure fruit, bright acidity and a fine mousse before a bone-dry finish. Impressive depth without being excessively aldehydic. Price: R300 a bottle.

#WinemagRating: 91/100.
