Perdeberg The Vineyard Collection Cinsault 2017
By Christian Eedes, 17 August 2018
That there is a large element of fashion to wine is borne out by the fact that Perdeberg Wines discontinued bottling a single-variety Cinsault in the mid-2000s only to reintroduce such a wine from the 2014 vintage.
Current release is the The Vineyard Collection Cinsault 2017. The nose shows raspberry, cherry and plum plus a little earth and spice while palate is marked by plenty of juicy fruit, bright acidity and soft tannins. It appears
sweet but not crassly so and goes down fast. Price: R80 a bottle.
Editor’s rating: 88/100.
