Steenberg is owned by Cap Classique producer Graham Beck and 60% of what it produces is also bubbles. Lady R sits at the top of the range, selling for R590 a bottle.
The 2019 is a blend of 63% Pinot Noir and 37% Chardonnay, and spent 50 months on the lees. The nose shows peach, citrus, red apple, strawberry plus hints of biscuit and roasted nuts. The palate is rich and broad with a creamy mousse, autolytic character very much to the fore.
