From a vineyard on the Helderberg property that is home to Ernie Els Wines, since replanted to Cabernet Sauvignon. Crafted by Rianie Strydom and matured for 18 months in barrel (50% new). The nose is all red berries and rose, with no overt greenness – just a teasing hint of rosemary and a touch of pencil shavings. The palate is generous at 14.5% alcohol yet carries ample freshness: sleek rather than opulent, with pure fruit expression, bright acidity and fine, powdery tannins. Price: R485 a bottle..
