Who drinks The Wolftrap White “matured and bottled” by Boekenhoutskloof? The 2014 is a blend of 48% Viognier, 41% Chenin Blanc and 11% Grenache Blanc and has an approximate retail price of R40 a bottle. It shows yellow fruit, a subtle earthiness and a slight yeasty character. Rich, relatively thick textured and more oxidative than you might expect.
It’s actually pretty smart but not as easy to understand as entry-level Sauvingnon Blanc nor does it sell on rarity like some of the other more exotic blends. That such a wine exists at all is reason for celebration for those of us who desire a wine market less ordinary.
Winemag rating: 87/100.

I have for a long time now been enjoying the white Wolftrap, as it is such brilliant wine for the price. The red Wolftrap is, in my humble opinion, also excellent value for a very tasty shiraz blend. Long may Boekenhoutskloof bless us with such lovely wines!!
