Vuurberg White 2019

By , 26 January 2022

As ever, the 2019 vintage of Vuurberg White made by Donovan Rall delivers plenty of grunt. Consisting of 58% Chenin Blanc, 13% Verdelho, 8% Roussanne, 8% Semillon, 8% Viognier and 5% Grenache Blanc sourced from across the winelands, the nose shows peach, apricot, vanilla, spice and some leesy complexity while the palate has dense fruit and an oily texture offset by bright acidity. A hearty, flavourful affair (alcohol is 14%). Price: R220 a bottle.

CE’s rating: 91/100.
