Hi Christian
You haven’t answered Wessel’s question. Like him (and I’m sure many others), I’ve always wondered how existing subscribers enter for these things. Each time you say that existing subscribers are eligible to enter, but not how to enter. You’ve never mentioned that existing subscribers are automatically entered (I suppose that would be the most sensible thing), and neither would it make any sense for them to resubscribe to the newsletter every time there’s a competition.
So the question remains: how do existing subscribers enter?

Our audience database consists of approximately 7,600 entries. Once the giveaway closes, a winner is selected at random. I assure you we keep the process as straightforward as possible.

Fair enough, but that still doesn’t answer the simple original question (which had nothing to do with fairness or transparency)…

I fear we may have been talking past each other. By ‘eligible,’ we always intended to convey ‘automatically entered.’ Apologies for any confusion – going forward, we’ll be sure to make this more explicit.

Ah – thank you.
